For Pet Owners

Your veterinary practice uses VetWise to provide you with 24/7 care and support

Care. Anywhere.

VetWise works with your veterinary practice

When you call your veterinarian's after-hours number, you'll be connected to our team of licensed RVTs and Veterinarians who work as an extension of your practice.

Always call your veterinarian's number - not VetWise directly. Your practice uses VetWise to ensure you receive expert care 24/7.

What to Expect

1. Call Your Veterinarian's Number

When you call after hours, you'll hear a greeting that identifies your veterinary practice, and you'll be connected to VetWise's after-hours support team.

2. Speak with Licensed Professionals

Our team of licensed Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) will assess your pet's situation and determine the best course of action.

3. Get Immediate Guidance or Schedule an Appointment

If it's an emergency, we'll direct you to the nearest emergency clinic. For non-emergencies, we'll provide reassurance and schedule an appointment at your practice for the next available time.

4. Veterinarian Consultation When Needed

If your situation requires veterinary medical advice, our licensed Veterinarians are available to provide immediate consultation and guidance.

Common Questions

How do I access VetWise services?

Simply call your veterinarian's office number. When calling after hours, you'll automatically be connected to VetWise.

Is this a replacement for in-person visits?

No. VetWise provides after-hours support to help you determine if your pet needs emergency care or if their issue can wait for an appointment at your regular practice.

How does VetWise work with my regular veterinarian?

VetWise works as an extension of your veterinarian's practice. All interactions are documented and shared with your practice to ensure continuity of care.

What if my pet needs emergency care?

If our assessment determines your pet needs immediate emergency care, we'll work to coordinate a transfer to the nearest in-person facility accepting patients.

Is there a cost for this service?

There is no cost to call VetWise and speak with a licensed RVT (veterinary nurse) to determine the appropriate level of care for your pet. If your pet would benefit from a consultation with one of our licensed veterinarians, all fees will be confirmed before an appointment is booked.
